Whether deaf and hearing participants are in the same room or miles apart, our web-based video service makes conversations clear, natural, and effortless.
No special software is required, just a laptop and a stable internet connection. VRI runs right in your web browser, making it a fast and easy solution. It’s a cost-effective way to ensure real-time access for appointments, interviews, team meetings, and even urgent situations where immediate communication is critical.
Communication Access Realtime Translation provides instant, word-for-word transcription, making it easy for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals to fully follow what’s being said. A skilled stenographer or steno typist transcribes speech in real time, displaying text on a screen for immediate access. CART can be provided on-site or remotely, much like a court reporter’s live transcription.
Whether it’s a lecture, corporate meeting, or public event, CART ensures spoken content is fully accessible, keeping everyone informed and engaged.
For other situations, a Certified Deaf Interpreter provides an extra layer of clarity and understanding. As deaf or hard-of-hearing professionals with specialized training in ASL interpreting, Deaf culture, and communication strategies, CDIs bring a unique skill set that enhances communication, especially in complex or nuanced interactions. Strategies used include gestures, drawings, visual aids, and mime to ensure messages are conveyed clearly, no matter the client’s signing style or language background.
CDIs work alongside hearing ASL interpreters, creating a collaborative process that includes four participants: the CDI, the hearing ASL interpreter, the Deaf client, and you. This teamwork ensures accurate, culturally appropriate communication for every interaction.
